ABOUT
Hi, I’m Dr. Bevin Campbell.
I’m a licensed psychologist and psychoanalyst with over 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and couples.
I hold a post-doctoral certificate in Couple Therapy from Adelphi University and am a graduate of the William Alanson White Institute’s Psychoanalytic Training Program. I’m also certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve taught courses in couple and family therapy, as well as psychotherapy theory, at several graduate programs in counseling and psychology throughout New York City. I teach a course on Gender and Sexuality to psychoanalytic candidates at the William Alanson White Institute and am the director of the Institute’s Online Topic-Oriented Psychotherapy Program (Online TOPP). My professional experience includes serving as a consultant to the Academy for Community Behavioral Health, where I developed trainings on addressing grief and loss for mental health providers.
My Approach
I approach therapy as a collaborative process and strive to be authentic, responsive, and curious in my work. Beyond traditional talk therapy, I offer a somatically informed, highly experiential, and expansive treatment. Whether you're looking for immediate relief from distress or seeking deeper, lasting change, we’ll work together to explore what’s holding you back and how you can move forward.
In our work, we’ll take a close look at the patterns and dynamics—both internal and relational—that may be leaving you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or low. I offer thoughtful feedback, respectful challenge, and supportive guidance, always with a deep appreciation for your unique experiences, strengths, and struggles.
Featured Modalities
My therapeutic approach is integrative and flexible, informed by neuroscience, attachment, and psychological research, and shaped by extensive training in a wide range of modalities, including:
Psychoanalytic Theory
Family Systems
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Relational and Interpersonal Approaches
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotheapy (AEDP)
Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT)
This diverse foundation allows me to tailor our work to suit your needs, preferences, and goals. I also incorporate regular feedback to ensure that therapy remains responsive, effective, and meaningful for you.
Clinical Supervision and Consultation
I offer clinical supervision and consultation, and I particularly love working with clinicians hoping to gain more experience with couples. If you want help deepening your work with an approach grounded in somatic, experiential, and relational modalities, please reach out for more information.
Outside of the therapy room, I’m deeply involved in advancing the field.
I produce and host webinars for the Psychotherapy Action Network, an advocacy organization promoting depth-oriented therapy. I’m also the host of In-Depth: Psychoanalysis in Academia, a podcast exploring the intersection of psychoanalysis and higher education.

How It Works
Reaching Out
The first step is simply getting in touch. Whether you're feeling certain you’re ready for therapy or just beginning to explore the idea, I welcome your questions. You can fill out the contact form or call me at 347-949-0674. I’ll respond personally, and we can set up a brief phone consultation to see if working together feels like the right fit.
Our First Appointment
In our initial session, we’ll begin by talking about what brings you in—what you’re hoping for, what’s been difficult, and anything else that feels important to share. It’s also a time for you to get a sense of how I work and ask any questions you may have. There’s no pressure to figure everything out right away. This is a space where you can come exactly as you are.
The Ongoing Process
Therapy is a collaborative, evolving process. Some people come seeking support through a specific crisis; others are looking for deeper, longer-term exploration. Whatever your path, our work together will unfold at a pace that feels right for you.
Over time, we’ll not only address immediate concerns, but also begin to uncover the emotional patterns and relational dynamics that may be shaping your experiences. I aim to offer a space where growth feels possible, connection feels safe, and lasting change can take root.

Ready to Connect?
Finding the right fit matters, and I’m happy to answer any questions or schedule a brief call to see whether working together feels right for you. Whatever brings you here, know that you’re not alone.
